So, if any of you are good friends with me from Mith, you'll probably know I suck at organics. So today I tried to conquer that failure. By building a dragon! True, it's very small, but because it's my first ever attempt, I'd really like some feedback, mainly on the body shape and the wing. (Keep in mind I've only built half of it so far. Want some feedback before I go any further xD) Thanks babes! <3
Pretty darn cool aaron, big props to you sir. As you know, i'm not much better than you at organics but one tip i'd give is to give the tips of the wings more of a tip lol idk P.s wat server is this on....
Its a nice start just carry on improving :)! In all fairness I am no better but I see organics in high standard ironicly :P
It's on a server I own for a "friend" although he kinda quit so I guess I own it now idk o_O Thanks for the compliment btw :P
Small organics are actually harder to build than the big organics. At least for me. With small organics, you have to be careful with every block, a slab, a stair, 1 block can change how it looks completely. So you really have to have patience and don't rush it at all, altho it is small, it doesn't mean you can make it in 5 mins, it could take even an hour or more if u are skilled to be completely satisfied with a small organic, to make what u imagined. I feel like you have to work on your proportions, make the head, body, legs, tail, wings proportional, ref pics help out a lot with this. Organics just require a lot of experimenting and block spamming until u reach your wanted shape. Experimenting is something you really want to do a lot with small organics, for example..u are making the head, now you're making the eyes and you want to experiment 10 different things, try 2 layers, try 3 layers of blocks, try slabs, try stairs, change the material and so on..until u achieve what u imagined and what looks best, same for every other thing u make on a small organic. Block spamming is something you want to do with big organics and not with small organics,. By block spamming, I mean getting that basic shape (wires/body frame), proportions and then the bulking/adding layers/shaping. With big organics, u can get away with some flaws and misplaced blocks while with small u can't. So don't be afraid to go big, try to make big organics first and then try the smaller ones when u get the feel for proportions and shape. And u gotta have confidence, starting off organics can be really discouraging because generally, when u start making something organic it'll look like crap in the beginning, then the more of it u make, the more it starts to get it's shape, the more fun and more satisfaction u get. Even if ur first big organic fails, you will learn something about organics, you'll figure out the curves and how the bulk/other layers follow that curve, it's not really that difficult, just have confidence and learn by yourself. :D
You should probably ask Dragon about your dragon :P. Honestly, this is a really good start. I'm not really the best to judge though because I don't really focus on organics nor am I any good at them lol.
I like it when people build my brethren. Although, I'm horrible at building them myself... so you did better than I certainly! So... er... yeah. That's all I had to say.
