Mojang hasn't given any information about the next update, so all we really can do is speculate about it. So what do you guys think will be in the next update?
Hmmmm... As the game has changed hands, we can't be sure, as patterns of updates will surely be different. I just hope Microsoft won't mess it up. Here's what they SHOULDNT do: Mech suits. Improved graphics. Guns. Spaceships. Cars. Planes. Etc. Windows computers because... Profit! Oh, and hopefully they won't listen to those idiots on the Minecraft Forum's suggestions section.
I did see a twitter post by the mc devs stating in 1.9 they are aiming for shaders and improved open gl support as standard to the game
Never know maybe have that as an option to choose between resolution don't see it happening quick however
Built in shaders would be pretty cool, although that paperclip mob is even better, it should be added along with a painting of Bill Gates that spews out diamonds. I haven't been on the Minecraft forums in a long time for that very reason, also because I like smaller friendly communities. I'm thinking this update could involve more mobs, they haven't had a update focused on mobs. Heck, a new dimension would be even better. I agree with your list, but I think gliders or that type of vehicle would be pretty cool and they would fit well if they were wooden.
i don't think they should implement the gsls shaders mod into vanilla minecraft ... idk i really love the fact that it's a mod by someone from the community what makes it so much more special than something from microsoft :/
I do agree it would be better if they added shaders that the community made rather than some Microsoft shader. I'm thinking that they will implement the shaders they had in that one snapshot, the ones you would get if you pressed the "secret" button.
They are? :p I play on 1.7.10 so I didn't know they were still in the game. Complete fail on my part.
I don't think that implementing GLSL Shaders into the game would be a great idea because of how many people still play the game on older machines. (SUCH AS MYSELF (Early 2011 Macbook Pro 15")) I have talked with many people before who play Mincraft (I'm sure most of you have as well), but many of them say they enjoy the game as of now because of its minimal hardware requirements.
i they do it correctly it wouldn't be a performance hit at all and be an option to turn on and off not as default
That may be true, and I assume that is what they will do, but even with the newer versions of the game, I have been noticing more of a FPS drop when set even at a lower setting with Optifine. Also, in the 1.8 update they introduced VBO which was supposed to speed up the FPS by a noticeable amount (mentioned in a pre-release tweet not too long ago) has not improved the game a whole lot. Now if Microsoft were to contact the creator of Optifine (Which has worked wonders for many players) I think it would be a nice collaboration if they were to improve upon that.
I personally think that shaders would be a good addition, because as of right now, shaders have very minimal support as to the platflorm that they're running on. I personally love shaders as they make my builds look substantially better with shader packs. More blocks would be a bonus as well for the building aspect ^-^
I agree. The only other thing I'd really want in 1.9 is an EnderDragon that doesn't bore me to death :)
What I myself am waiting, is the introduction of "Red Dragons", and lairs, to give more of a random-encounter-deal/mini-boss-type-thing. It'd be a great addition, in my opinion.
