I would like to ask everyone: What is your favourite theme or style to build in? What are your strong points in building? And When did you start building?(like proper building in creative) This is just a little thread to get to know each other and how they build!
I specialise theme is Medieval or SteamPunk My Strong points are highly detailing, and creating buildings in general, I know a lot and can operate both voxel sniper and WE. I started Building about 2-3 years ago.
My favorite style to build is Stadium Building. Stadium building is one of my strong points becuase everytime i build a stadium they get better and better. When i started building?: i started building on Minecraft Pocket edition my FIRST ever build was (as u can maybe guess) a stadium. and it was in like alpha 1.5 or something.
My favourite theme/style to build would be Modern. Simplistic, yet can be quite detailed. My strong points, hmm, probably exterior styling, or building exterior structures to compliment the build. I started building about 1 1/2 years ago, when I first started building on Pwego ;) But I took a break as I got into PvP. So I haven't built for a while.
My favourite style is medieval but my strongest point I'd say is atmosphere. Started building crap cobblestone boxes in 2011
um i like building wood shacks my favourite style i guess is wood strong points are nice corners and i started like 7-8 yrs or so ago
I build best with Medievil, Mountains, or Houses. My strong points in building are using worldedit orcommand blocks I can make something amazing with those. (not good wiht redstone thought :P) When I first acually started building was wayyyy before Creative came out. I was building houses for my "village" hoping to ventually be an update with multiplayer and I built this really big nice house. It was EPIC! that was about 4-5 years ago pre-release/official release time.
My preferred style is what I've seen be called "High Fantasy" (not sure if that's any different from regular fantasy, but just roll with me here) My strong points in building are, of course, aesthetics, and being able to create a random idea on the fly (though only with some initial, random input; land shape, other players, etc), and a great ability to visualize things. (Not sure if this is just me, or if I'm making a fool of myself. Either way, that's that.) I am also very experienced with WorldEdit. (By that, I mean using it.) I started building... a long time ago. Probably on the server I made with some friends, a few years back. 4 or 5, maybe?...
I specialize in the themes; Medieval and Steampunk, but I can do other themes such as Fantasy, Modern etc... My strong points in building is doing the exterior as well as putting the three main concepts of building; Depth, detail and block variation. I started building since last year making aesthetically pleasing dirt houses. xD
My best style is probably environment/atmosphere and creative building was the first mode I did in Minecraft. Then I found out about the multiplayer button 0:
I joined near the end of August in 2012, had a blast on PI (just Pwegoable back then) And I started on my very first city Fyrestone (had no terrain whatsoever, just flatland) I guess it was a mix of medieval/modern. But I do a lot more styles these days. I've done builds ranging from early medieval all the way into sci fi. (haven't done anything roman though, might give that a try on ) I'm also a fan of building megabuilds (some of which have unfortunately crashed the server due to my large amounts of w.e. usage) Here's an example of my massive megabuilds (9x9 map size is 1152x1152, full length of this star fort is about 2k) I might redo this thing bigger and better on Athion.
Im a bit of a perfectionist, this comes with pros and cons, I normally take AGES over the smallest things, and am always thinking of ways to improve my or others builds, the good thing is that once a build is finally done, i usually have managed to do it to the best of my ability. Im good at putting high detail into objects and buildings without it looking scruffy or haphazard (like when you add random blocks to add depth without thinking how they flow into the build), I'm trying to work on my architecture because i feel there's room for improvement in that area. Unfortunately i have yet to master WE and voxel, hopefully this is something Athion can help me with post launch. If you want to see a couple of my builds, have a look in the build showcase section - would really appreciate a like or a comment :)
My favourite theme to build in would probably be Fantasy. My strong point personally I think is detailing. I started to build around 7 months ago.
My strong point is medieval, but lately I've been trying out modern, organic and fantasy. I built a log house (derp, I didn't know how to make planks) in minecraft 1.4 or 1.5 beta as cracked, around 2010-11.
Medieval, steampunk and vampiric all in one. I'm pretty good at walls? XD And started building twain twacks and cobble castles back in '11 :P
I started building on Pwego in 2012 I think but I've always prefered building to survival, even before creative existed. I love doing loads of new styles and ideas but my favourite thing is trying put loads of detail and character into buildings, espcially interiors. I also like making things that look functional, as some people know towards the end of PI I established the Mech library (something I hope to be able to continue on Athion). Here's some pwetty pics:
I myself really enjoy doing gothic. Conork's style is also pretty fun. I'm probably best at making terrain. First build was a crappy as heck wood mansion thing on 1.8 beta, just when creative was released :3
